FROM 2021: RESEARCHERS MAY CONTRIBUTE (ACADEMICS, INDEPENDENT) AND LISTENERS CAN MAKE REQUESTS
MONITORING OF THE YMUSIC DATABASE: FROM 2015 TO 2019
In 2015, in order to provide the best experience in terms of music (re)search, we decided to create a database that can meet the interest of all sorts of musicians, teachers and students as well as producers and other industry executives. Thus, we began to encode music titles, their composers, their performers, the year during which the title was composed and related streaming services' links.
In June 2019, the database, encoded entirely manually to gather all this information together, already contained around 40, 000 titles, representing all styles. This is a decent basis both to lead a serious (re)search and to get an overview of the YMusic search engine features.
In 2020, as we enter a period during which we will establish many contacts to get relevant feedback within the industry and refine our algorithms to meet all (re)searchers' targets, we must slow down the spontaneous daily data encoding. However, as far as possible, we are ready to integrate specific titles if you need them for analysis purposes. Also, if you want, you can contribute to the growth of the database.
